How Window Blinds Are Actually Made In Factories

Most people think window blinds are just cut plastic. In a real factory, it’s a lot more like building a small machine — especially the ones that survive Las Vegas heat. Here’s how the four main types are made, step by step. 1. Faux Wood Blinds (The #1 Seller Blinds in Las Vegas ) This is what 70% of homes in Henderson, Summerlin, and Centennial Hills have. Step 1: Extrusion  PVC pellets, tiny plastic beads, are melted at 350°F and mixed with UV inhibitors and whitening agents. This is critical for Las Vegas. Cheap factories skip UV inhibitors to save $0.20 per blind, and those blinds yellow in 18 months. Good factories add 2-3% UV blocker. Why Having More Than Two Types of Window Treatments In One House Looks Unusual to Buyers and Visitors

Walk into a house in Summerlin with faux wood blinds in the living room, verticals on the slider, cellular shades in the bedrooms, and zebra shades in the office, and even if every single one is nice on its own, something feels off. In Las Vegas blinds aren't decor. They're survival equipment. And every type tells a story. 1. Vertical Blinds in Las Vegas = "I'm the Original Owner Since 1997" If you still have verticals on your slider in Green Valley or Aliante, you bought this house when it was new. Verticals were builder standard in the 90s and early 2000s. They made sense when sliding glass doors were 6 feet wide. Now they clack, they break, they collect dust in every single vane, and that one vane near the handle is always missing. What it says: You’ve lived here forever, you’re practical, and you haven’t remodeled yet. Or you’re a landlord who hasn’t updated the rental since 2008. What neighbors think: That house is due for an upgrade. 2. Bent Aluminum Mini Blinds in Las Vegas — "This ...
